This award recognises HR teams in the hospitality sector that have delivered outstanding workforce management and employee engagement over the past 12 months. The judges will want to see a comprehensive approach to HR across areas such as talent attraction and retention, employee engagement, workforce development, wellbeing, and leadership capability. Entrants should demonstrate how HR initiatives have supported workforce stability, improved employee experience, and enhanced service delivery within fast-paced, customer-focused environments. Entry is by a 5-page A4 PDF submission; the judges will be looking for clear information backed up by facts that pays particular attention to the criteria listed below.
- Background: Please provide an overview of the organisation including workforce size, structure, and service offering within the hospitality sector. Outline the role of the HR function and its overall people strategy, including key workforce challenges such as high staff turnover, seasonal demand, or frontline workforce management.
- Key Initiatives & Challenges: Please outline the key HR initiatives implemented over the past year. This may include recruitment and retention strategies, employee engagement programmes, training and development initiatives, or wellbeing supports. Include any specific challenges faced and how these were addressed.
- Collaboration: Describe how collaboration between HR, leadership teams, and frontline staff contributed to improved workforce outcomes. This may include cross-functional working, communication strategies, or employee involvement in HR initiatives.
- Outcomes & Results: Highlight the outcomes of the HR initiatives, providing evidence of how they have improved workforce performance and service delivery. This may include improvements in retention rates, employee engagement, workforce stability, customer service outcomes, or operational performance.
- Supporting Statements & Testimonials: Please include any additional statements or facts that support your entry, such as employee feedback, testimonials, survey results, or external recognition.
