Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, a Japanese multinational with approximately 150,000 employees across more than 200 group companies, has unveiled a new Talent Mobility System designed to match employees with opportunities across its global operations.

The initiative aims to better identify, deploy, and develop high-potential talent worldwide.

In tandem, the company is expanding its Global On-the-Job Training (G-OJT) programme, providing younger employees with more immersive overseas work experiences than traditional short-term international assignments.

The Talent Mobility System will create a centralised view of top talent across the group, focusing on high-potential managers and future leaders in overseas subsidiaries. Currently, many mid-level and early-career employees in overseas subsidiaries are largely restricted to local roles. The new framework is intended to accelerate cross-border talent sharing, increase access to international roles, and enable seamless career progression.

Mitsubishi Electric said the system “supports its ambition to evolve into an innovative company that creates new value by encouraging fresh ideas and a willingness to take risks.” By providing a clearer pathway for global assignments and cross-business rotations, the company expects to enhance employee development, engagement, and leadership pipelines across its international workforce.

The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to build a more agile, globally integrated workforce capable of supporting Mitsubishi Electric’s long-term growth and innovation objectives. By linking talent with global opportunities, the company aims to strengthen organisational resilience and ensure the right people are in the right roles at the right time.
