UKG integrates Chime Workplace to enhance employee financial wellness
UKG, the US-headquartered HR, payroll, and workforce management platform, has integrated Chime Workplace, a financial wellness suite, into its UKG Marketplace. The integration makes Chime Workplace accessible to the platform’s 80,000 global customers, providing tools to strengthen employee engagement, retention, and workplace productivity.
Chime Workplace offers employees no-fee earned wage access alongside financial resources such as financial education, high-yield savings accounts, and credit-building tools. For employers, the platform delivers actionable insights to measure programme effectiveness, improve employee adoption, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maxwell Group, a developer and operator of senior living care facilities, is among the UKG clients adopting Chime Workplace. Nerissa Nelson, vice president of human resources at Maxwell Group, noted that the platform gives employees immediate access to pay while supporting long-term financial confidence and goal achievement.
The integration follows Chime’s June acquisition of Salt Labs, a company specialising in employee rewards programmes. This move aims to accelerate growth in the employer channel, attracting new members to Chime’s financial services platform and expanding its HR technology footprint.
Last August, Workday, another HR and finance provider, announced the integration of Chime Workplace into its Workday Wellness platform. This collaboration allows Workday customers to offer financial wellness benefits directly through the platform, helping HR teams gain deeper insights into employee preferences, improve benefit programmes, and introduce new offerings tailored to workforce needs.
Cristina Goldt, general manager for HCM, workforce management, and payroll at Workday, emphasised that employees increasingly expect competitive financial wellness benefits. Integrating Chime Workplace makes it easier for employers to provide relevant tools that support workforce wellbeing while improving engagement and retention metrics.
