Applegreen wins HR Team of the Year – Large at HR Leadership & Management Awards 2025

Carrying forward the spirit of 2025’s innovators, Applegreen’s ROI HR Team has been named HR Team of the Year – Large at the HR Leadership & Management Awards 2025, recognising their exceptional role in driving a people-first culture across Ireland’s leading roadside retail network.

Supporting more than 3,000 colleagues nationwide, the team has redefined HR excellence through warmth, innovation, and strategic vision, enhancing wellbeing, learning, and inclusion while building a connected, future-ready workforce.

The judges commended Applegreen’s HR leaders for a truly transformational year, highlighting key achievements such as the introduction of the company’s first HRIS system, the creation of a structured internal leadership pipeline, and significant enhancements to recruitment processes. 

These initiatives have strengthened organisational capability, supported employee development, and fostered a more engaging workplace culture. As a result, 86.5% of employees now recommend Applegreen as a great place to work, reflecting the tangible impact of the HR team on both morale and organisational performance.

“Their strategic approach, clear decision-making, and focus on people showcase exceptional impact and organisational growth,” the judges said.
