Aviva has launched a free workplace wellbeing seminar programme for its workplace pension clients, giving employers access to specialist experts on mental health, neurodiversity and physical wellbeing, addressing a gap where many employers recognise the link between wellbeing and performance but feel unequipped to act on it.
Aviva is the UK's only diversified insurer, operating in the UK, Ireland and Canada, with international investments in India and China. It serves 25.3 million customers, is listed on the FTSE 100, and paid £31.9 billion in claims and benefits to customers in 2025.
The strategic logic converts an underused benefit relationship into an active engagement channel. Delivered through bespoke online webinars, the employer-facing seminars sit alongside a parallel programme offered directly to employees on stress, resilience, work-life balance and musculoskeletal health, reflecting a joined-up approach across Aviva's Health and Protection businesses rather than a standalone wellbeing add-on.
Laura Stewart-Smith, head of pension engagement at Aviva, said employers increasingly recognise the link between wellbeing, engagement and long-term performance, but many do not feel fully equipped to support their people meaningfully. She said the programme is about building the confidence and capability of employees, giving employers practical expert insight while empowering employees to better understand and manage their own wellbeing, ultimately helping people feel more confident engaging with long-term decisions such as pension saving.
The launch builds directly on a financial wellbeing tool Aviva introduced in March 2026 for Aviva Master Trust members, giving employers and trustees insight into employee engagement along with the new wellbeing content.
For the sector, the case signals that pension providers are increasingly bundling wellbeing support into existing benefit relationships as a differentiator, rather than treating wellbeing and pension engagement as separate categories, a model likely to prompt rival providers to expand similarly joined-up offerings.
