GCM Grosvenor appoints new chief human resources officer

GCM Grosvenor, a Chicago-based global alternative asset management firm with approximately $87 billion (€74.7 billion) in assets under management, has appointed Cara Fixler as Chief Human Resources Officer.

Fixler will oversee the firm’s global HR strategy, including talent development, recruitment, employee engagement, and organisational culture.

Fixler joins GCM Grosvenor from LaSalle Investment Management, a subsidiary of Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), where she served as Head of Human Resources, Americas, leading HR strategy for over 300 employees and approximately $30 billion (€28 billion) in assets under management.

Her career spans more than 20 years in HR leadership across sectors including real estate, healthcare, industrial, and financial services, with earlier leadership roles at AbbVie and General Electric.

Fixler holds a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota and will be based at GCM Grosvenor’s Chicago headquarters.

The firm employs approximately 560 professionals across offices in Chicago, New York, Toronto, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Seoul, and Sydney, serving institutional and individual investors globally.
