Industry NewsStockport Council launches free workplace wellbeing resources for local employers
Stockport Council is inviting local businesses, charities and community organisations to access free resources designed to improve staff and volunteer wellbeing through evidence-based workplace interventions.
Marketing Stockport reported that the 5 Ways to Feel Good initiative encourages teams to Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give. They are simple, proven actions that help people feel more positive, more resilient and more engaged.
Organisations can access a range of free downloadable assets, activity packs, internal communications templates and presentation materials, with printed resources available on request. The suite is designed for both larger organisations and smaller teams, offering full campaign toolkits and practical quick-start ideas.
A strong wellbeing focus makes business sense, with analysis by Deloitte finding a £4.70 (€5.50) average return for every £1 (€1.17) invested in mental health. When mental health is supported at work, engagement and productivity rise.
Cllr Micheala Meikle, cabinet member for economy, regeneration and skills, said: "What makes the 5 Ways to Feel Good so powerful is how accessible they are. Whether you're a charity, a small business or a large organisation, these free tools and resources make it easy to build wellbeing into the everyday rhythm of your workplace."
Several Stockport-based employers are already preparing to use the resources, including Parently Group. Kathryn Shuttleworth, chief executive, said: "We're really pleased to be rolling out the Five Ways to Feel Good across Parently Park. The framework fits naturally with how we already support our people's wellbeing in practical, meaningful ways."
She added that through initiatives like financial health sessions, Simplyhealth membership, mental health first aiders and the Menolouge supportive group, the organisation focuses on helping colleagues feel supported both at work and beyond.
