TES Power announces workforce expansion and apprenticeship investment following Legrand acquisition

Northern Ireland engineering specialist TES Power has announced continued workforce and international expansion following its acquisition by global electrical infrastructure company Legrand, with the Cookstown-headquartered firm committing to ongoing investment in local employment, skills development, and apprenticeship programmes. The announcement is relevant to HR and people management professionals tracking workforce growth strategies in engineering and manufacturing sectors experiencing rapid demand-driven scaling.

As reported by MSN, TES Power has grown its workforce to more than 300 employees while increasing revenues to £72 million, driven by accelerating demand for data centre power distribution infrastructure across Europe and the United States.

The company offered 30 apprenticeships during 2025 and continues to recruit across electrical engineering, manufacturing, project management, CAD design, procurement, quality assurance, and administration. A new 300,000 sq ft manufacturing campus in County Londonderry has also recently opened to support increasing global demand.

Michael Beagan, managing director of TES Power, described the Legrand acquisition as a landmark moment for the business, adding that the deal would provide the perfect platform for TES to further expand its international presence while remaining deeply committed to its roots in Northern Ireland.

The acquisition by France-headquartered Legrand is expected to support further international expansion while maintaining local operations and investment, positioning TES for accelerated growth as demand for advanced electrical infrastructure and data centre technologies continues to rise globally.

Founded four decades ago by Brian Taylor as a specialist in water management and treatment systems, TES has evolved from a small engineering business into an international operator supplying high-specification electrical infrastructure for mission-critical environments across Europe and the US.
